At Simply Whim we believe that Age is Not a Skin Type™. Due to both chronological & environmental aging, our skin ages faster than any other organ of the body. As time passes, the way our body functions slows down. This includes how skin performs, how it regenerates, and how it repairs itself. When this happens, we experience different effects including loss of collagen, elasticity, uneven tone and texture, fine lines & wrinkles, sun damage, and even loose skin. The closest thing we have to a fountain of youth is a good skincare regimen, a nutritious diet, and a healthy lifestyle. To help reverse this damage and improve our appearance it’s important to use skincare products like Whim that utilize higher concentrations of quality active ingredients, advanced skincare technologies and, Mother Nature’s finest botanical ingredients that perform. The Whim® products are not organic or all-natural, but we have selected an abundance of skin-friendly, natural ingredients that provide amazing benefits as part of our formulations. These include powerful plant botanicals – fruits, flowers, and herbs. There are incredible marine extracts, including algae & kelp and, of course, the latest in scientific innovation. We do not include parabens, animal by-products, gluten, synthetic colors or dyes, sodium lauryl sulfates (SLS), petrochemicals, phthalates, formaldehyde, mineral oil, or oxybenzone. We wish we could formulate “all-natural” but we value product efficacy and results. To formulate products that can deliver anti-aging benefits we need to go a few steps further with our formulations. And because of this, we include superior active ingredients at higher concentrations. Ingredients like peptides, hyaluronic acid, amino acids, AHA’s and more. Unfortunately, based on age and lifestyle choices, for most of us, all-natural products simply aren’t enough.

No, No, a thousand times No! The Whim® products are cruelty-free. We are true lovers of all animals and would never, ever do anything to harm them. You can be assured that we will NEVER test the Whim® products on animals. By the way, we have two office cats who have been instrumental in the creation of Whim®, Mr. Boots and Miss Trixie! They are involved in just about everything. Whether we like it or not!

No! All of the Whim® products are paraben-free. These days there is no reason to use parabens in a product as there are several wonderful paraben free alternatives available.

A preservation system is essential in any skincare formula. It helps to prevent the dangerous growth and spread of harmful bacteria. At Simply Whim we only formulate using paraben-free preservative systems. We actively research new ingredients and stabilizing alternatives to create only those formulas that are safe, powerful, potent, and results-driven. And, of course, non-irritating and non-toxic as well.

Please check the individual ingredient lists for full transparency on ingredients. You may notice a subtle hint of scent in some products and many times it comes from a fruit, flower or herb extract included in the product. The Age Defying Moisturizer, for example, has a scent to it but that scent is coming from the natural, geranium extract in the product. There is no added synthetic fragrance whatsoever. It smells so beautiful it’s hard to believe!  The cleanser on the other hand has a trace amount of added scent to make the product more sensorial.

Some of the Whim® products may contain ingredients that aren’t suitable for sensitive skin. If you generally experience skin sensitivity, we suggest you do a patch test first. Try the products on a small section of the skin on the inside of your wrist. Keep an eye open for any skin reactions for 24 hours before applying to your face. And, if you have a known allergy to specific ingredients, please check the individual ingredient panels. Generally, we have very few issues with sensitive skin, but everyone’s skin is different. It’s always best to err on the side of caution.

Yes there is, and the order in which you apply your Whim® products is very important. Different products have different molecular sizes. Some penetrate with ease and others set on the surface of the skin. So the order and the method of application is key in ensuring optimal results. Check out our Skincare Guide for details. It definitely makes a difference!

This is what makes the Whim® products so incredible! Results vary from person to person but, you will have a combination of wonderful results after just one use that get better and better over time. Depending on the condition of your skin, you should notice softer, smoother, brighter skin in just a few days. However, many report seeing and feeling results after their very first use. The skin’s normal regenerative cycle takes about a month to 6 weeks so many people report their most significant anti-aging results during this time period.

We challenge you to take the ½ face challenge when you first try your Whim® products. Just cleanse and apply your products to half of your face only. We are confident you will notice a significant difference right away!

Yes! With the exception of the Multi-Action Exfoliating Scrub, all of the Whim® products are developed to be used both AM and PM for optimal results. Our multi-active ingredients provide both protection and correction benefits to the skin and are designed to gently nurture the skin during the daytime and repair the skin while you sleep. The Whim® products are put through a series of tests to ensure purity, potency, and safety. We strictly abide by FDA-mandated Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). And, we adhere to all quality assurance guidelines. Before any product is approved for sale; toxicity, temperature, stability, compatibility, and microbiological tests are diligently performed. Each Whim® product has a shelf life of up to 18 months when unopened, and up to 6 months after the product has been opened. The Whim® products are made with many natural ingredients, so they may react to extreme heat or cold. It’s best to store your products at room temperature and out of direct sunlight to maximize product integrity and efficacy.

Depending on the level of your skin sensitivity the Whim® Polishing Cleanser may, or may not be right for you. This is not your average facial cleanser in that it does a lot more than just cleanse your skin. It contains gentle alpha hydroxy acids to help smooth away uneven skin texture providing a daily polishing for your skin. For some with sensitive skin, alpha hydroxy acids, even the gentlest, may be a bit harsh. If you’re unsure how your skin will react to the the Whim® Polishing Cleanser, please request a free sample! We recommend you do a patch test to determine suitability on your neck or the inside of your wrist.

The Whim® Polishing Cleanser contains a very trace amount of fragrance. It’s trace enough to impart a slight, fresh scent during the cleansing process. It’s present at the absolute lowest level of ingredients within the formula.

You must cleanse your skin in the morning and evening! This is non-negotiable in the pursuit of healthy-looking skin. After using the Whim® Polishing Cleanser before going to bed, follow with the PM regimen, including the Whim® Illuminating Eye Treatment, there Whim® Youth Boosting Serum, Whim® Age-Defying Moisturizer. Naturally, you’ll want to wash-away any skin care residue from your skin in the morning before applying your AM products. But, even if you skip your PM regimen, which we don’t recommend, your skin is probably covered with impurities from your hair, pillowcase, sheets and just from the temperature change of your body and sweat and oil secretions. Cleanse twice a day no matter what using the Whim® Polishing Cleanser!

The skin around the eyes is different than the skin elsewhere on the body. This area lacks both sweat and oil glands making it highly susceptible to dehydration and, it’s usually the first place we notice the signs of aging. Because of this, this delicate skin must be treated differently. In many cases, your other skincare products are just too heavy for this unique area resulting in negative results like puffiness, irritated skin, and sometimes little white bumps called milia. Eye treatment products are light-weight, moisturizing, and absorb easily. Apply your Illuminating Eye Treatment by gently patting in and around the eye area using your ring finger. Never rub or tug this delicate skin as it may cause irreparable damage over time.

Yes, it is. Throughout the processing stage, all gluten has been removed from the wheat protein to ensure that this skin loving ingredient is gluten-free.

No. This was a deliberate exclusion on our part. We wanted the Whim® Age-Defying Moisturizer to shine like the Queen that it is, and did not want to dilute its benefits with sunscreens! We don’t use any chemical sunscreens in the Whim® products. Only mineral sunscreens in the Whim® broad-spectrum, Moisture Shield SPF 30 Sunscreen. Physical sunscreens sit on top of the skin and are not absorbed into the blood stream. It’s most fitting for the Whim® line to not include the sunscreens in our moisturizer, but separate them out so both products can do their job the way they are intended to without fear from those who are opposed to chemical sunscreens. Whim Moisture Shield SPF 30 is the last step in your AM skincare regimen, or you can apply as needed throughout the day..

Whim Age-Defying Moisturizer is fragrance free, what you’re smelling is geranium extract, not used for its fragrance. The extract of this beautiful, flowering plant extract provides extraordinary astringent properties, and is known to help skin contract for a firmer, toned appearance. It also imparts an appealing, natural soothing scent.

The Whim Moisture Shield SPF 30 Sunscreen contains a blend of Zinc Oxide & Titanium Dioxide. We use all mineral filters in the form of physical sunscreens to avoid controversial chemical sunscreens like Oxybenzone. It’s most fitting for Whim to eliminate chemical sunscreens from our products. For those thoroughly opposed to chemical sunscreens this is a wonderful option to ease any concerns.

The Whim Moisture Shield SPF 30 Sunscreen is a broad spectrum sunscreen containing Titanium Dioxide – 7.2%, and Zinc Oxide – 4.0%. In addition to the sunscreens you will also find antioxidants, peptides, jojoba seed oil, rose water and more.

No, this is not a good idea. The Moisture Shield SPF 30 Sunscreen, with it larger molecular structure, is designed to sit on top of the skin and not be absorbed into the skin. Mixing the Age-Defying Moisturizer together with the Moisture Shield SPF 30 Sunscreen, the anticipated results of both are weakened. Always apply the Age-Defying Moisturizer first, and apply the Moisture Shield SPF 30 Sunscreen second.

Absolutely! The only time they can be problematic is if they are in the wrong hands. The key is to take a gentle approach with your exfoliation. You certainly don’t want to scrub your skin raw, and with some exfoliants that is possible. It’s always best to apply the Whim Multi-Action Scrub in a gentle, circular motion moving from area to area. Start by exfoliating only once a week and build up from there. They key is to be gentle and to make sure your skin is damp or wet with water!

We don’t recommend it. The Whim Multi-Action Exfoliating Scrub contains a blend of exfoliants that are both physical and chemical, including volcanic ash, alpha hydroxy fruit acids, and bamboo crystals. This process may be irritating to those with skin sensitivity. If you are unsure how your skin will interact with the Whim Multi-Action Exfoliating Scrub, you may request a free sample and give it a try! We suggest doing a patch-test on a small section of your neck and/or your inner wrist prior to using on your face.
